Are you interested in helping new international students adjust to life in Seattle? Sharing your culture with others? Building your skills
and your resume? Fostering international awareness? Join the FIUTS
team as a FIUTS Facilitator!
Like many non-profit organizations, FIUTS depends on the generosity
and passion of our volunteers to help accomplish our goals. Volunteering
is a great opportunity to learn intercultural leadership skills and make new friends.
FIUTS welcomes volunteers from all skill levels and backgrounds.
Facilitators can be any UW student, international or local, graduate or undergraduate. Hours are flexible but volunteers are expected to keep their commitments.
Joining the FIUTS Facilitator program is easy!
1) Fill out an application form in the FIUTS office, or you can download and print one.
2) Bring your application to the FIUTS office (Condon Hall 511C).
3) Attend a facilitator orientation, which is a 1-hour training held twice per month in the FIUTS office. You can view the upcoming orientations on the FIUTS calendar.
4) Start facilitating! You can sign up for the events that best fit your interests and schedule. Whether you enjoy dressing up and schmoozing with community members, driving a group of students to Vancouver, or teaching a classroom full of children about an international topic, there's an opportunity for you!
If you have any questions contact Nicole Comforto, FIUTS Manager of Student Programs
