Where are you from?
I am from Southern India with a lot of beaches and coconut trees. India is a diverse country with different cultures and languages for each state. Having lived in 3 different states, I can speak three Indian languages of Kannada, Konkani and Hindi. Apart from that I have lived and worked in Japan for the past three years and possess business level proficiency in Japanese.

What's your FIUTS story?

I got to know about FIUTS during the Embark program when I joined Udub. As soon as applications opened in the second quarter, I enthusiastically applied for the position of facilitator and soon earned the '10 Facilitating Shifts' badge by facilitating frequently. I was part of the programming and leadership committee and organized FIUTS Leads successfully for training other facilitators. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I enthusiastically facilitated virtual events for students. The same enthusiasm led me into my current position on the student board as the Graduate and Professional Students Senate (GPSS) representative at FIUTS facilitating interactions between GPSS and FIUTS.

How will you change the world?
I will change the world through technology. Technology can solve many of the world's problems like hunger and poverty. Technology can empower individuals to do their work better. New technologies like cryptocurrencies, driverless cars, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality can make the world a better place to live.

Sachin Nayak is pursuing a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He hopes to change the world by improving technology related to cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality. He is the GPSS Representative 2020-2021 FIUTS Student Board.
