International Student Orientations

The International Student Orientation program includes Opening Day (fall only), Welcome Reception, information sessions and social activities. Some of the topics covered in orientation are immigration, health care, and how to connect with the community both on and off campus. We will also address housing, academic issues, American culture, personal safety, and more; but the best part is the opportunity to meet other students. Student Facilitators, many of them returning internationals, will assist you and give you advice on how to make the best of your time here. View photos of the 2008 Orientation Facilitators.

In addition to attending the FIUTS Orientation, you may need to attend departmental and program orientations. Please contact the department to which you have been admitted for additional information. All freshman and transfer students, are required to register for and Advising and Orientation session (A&O) offered by the First Year Programs office. The First Year Programs Orientation provides information about course requirements, registration and transferring credit.
