Weekend Adventures with FIUTS
Photos of last weekend's student trips (in the sunshine!) to the Windermere Cup and the Mobile Food Rodeo.
Last weekend was a busy one, with FIUTS students taking part in the celebration of Seattle's Opening Day of Boating Season, and a trip to the Mobile Food Rodeo in Fremont. Take a look at some photos from these events, and visit our Events Calendar for more upcoming opportunities to enjoy the Spring with FIUTS!
Windermere Cup
FIUTS Facilitator Ashley Kneller, who went to the Windermere Cup for Opening Day, said: "Wow, what perfect weather we had this weekend! I don't think it could have been any better for a day of boat watching. Of course with the sun and perfect temperature, the event went very well (plus the fact that UW won every event)."
Mobile Food Rodeo
Students went to Fremont to try out different lunch options from food trucks featuring a wide variety of treats. Ashley Kneller, who facilitated this event as well, said that "Once again the weather was perfect for an outdoor event. The food truck rodeo was a lot bigger (and attracted a lot more people) than we had thought. The group spent a good amount of time looking through the Sunday market and waiting in line for some food truck goodies. I think everyone tried some Mexican food in the spirit of Cinco de Mayo. We even had a student from Mexico attend which helped us all learn about the celebration.
"As a group, we all sat by the water and had a picnic. Afterward, we went to the Bluebird homemade Ice Cream shop which was perfect considering the 80-degree weather..."
Thanks to Ashley Kneller for sharing these photos!
