CulturalFest Countdown: Meet Husky Wushu
The CulturalFest Performance Showcase on February 10 will feature 10 performing artists and groups who will share cultures from around the world on the Meany Hall stage. Learn more about one of this year’s CulturalFest performers, Husky Wushu.
Our club was founded in the early 2000s by students who wanted to practice Wushu, our Chinese martial art. Soon, they molded a team that was skilled and diverse enough to perform on a national scale, competing at various events around the country. In performing at CulturalFest, we hope to show our audience the dynamic and elegant strengths of martial arts, and instill in them the same fire that keeps us practicing.
In the past, performing at CulturalFest has meant everything to us. It is an opportunity to spread the word about our sport and is a performance we always look forward to. This year, we'll be showcasing new fist and weapon forms as well as a more coordinated and flashy performance style. Wushu is a sport that can be enjoyed equally by both experts and beginners, and we hope this performance will convince the audience to join us!
