CulturalFest International Expo: Event Highlights
Over 1,500 community members, K-12 students, and UW students explored booths from around the world at CulturalFest International Expo 2020. This year, thirty different student groups presented on unique traditions, language, cuisine, music, and more.
Paul Sereeyothin, a representative from the Thai Booth and a member of the Thai Student Association at UW, shared why he chose to take part: "I decided to participate in the CulturalFest International Expo this year because I believe this to be an incredible opportunity for me and my Thai peers to contribute to the diversity of the event… it is figuring out exactly what the essence of Thai culture means to us that excites us. It rekindles our spirit to be presenting to others what means so much to us in life: our Thai values.” Of these, Sereeyothin highlighted a sense of social cohesion, mutual understanding, and respect among the people.
