Welcome, Manjot and Mary Kathleen!
FIUTS is very excited to have two new friendly faces in our office working on our education prorams, community outreach and CulturalFest. Manjot and Mary Kathleen are our work-studies -- say hi when you see them around! Here they are, introducing themselves to our community:
Name: Manjot Singh
Hometown: India
Year: Freshman
Major: Currently considering Bioengineering
About me:
Hi, my name is Manjot Singh. I am currently a freshman at the University of Washington and am considering to major in Bioengineering. I am originally from India and I moved to the United States a little over five years ago. Back then, I had never been outside my state in India, so moving here was a drastic change in my lifestyle. I understand how difficult it can be to get adjusted to life here in the US, that's why I decided to join FIUTS. I want to help international students get accustomed to life here and I want to open them to the vast array of resources available to people here.
In my free time, I like to watch TV shows and movies, play sports, and hike. I also enjoy cooking different types of food whenever I have time.
Name: Mary Kathleen Steiner

About Me: Hello! My name is Mary Kathleen and I am a first year grad student in the School of Public Health. I grew up on the east coast and recently moved to Seattle from Boston, where I just completed my undergrad at Northeastern. There, I studied Health Sciences and Human Services and spent a semester abroad in India doing a public health internship. In my free time, I like running, playing/watching soccer, watching Netflix, going out for coffee, and exploring Seattle! I love learning about and meeting people from other cultures, so I am very exciting to be working with FIUTS this year!
