Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. I love my country because it has the most delicious food in my opinion, and most importantly, Taiwan is known for its hospitality and beautiful sightseeing. I came from a supportive family, in which they help me achieve my dream. I graduated from high school before choosing to study abroad in Seattle. It’s been an amazing journey to live in another country and learn its culture.
What's your FIUTS story?
As a transfer student, I’ve always wanted to engage in student activities. FIUTS is one of the best organizations at UW. In the past, I participated the Pen Pal Program for two quarters and it was amazing since I got to meet elementary school children and exchanged letters with them. On top of that I really wanted to become one of the student board members to be in charge of the managing and planning process. Therefore, I applied to be a treasurer and fundraising co-chair. The whole Student Board team, including the FIUTS staff, are very friendly and I believe we will be an awesome team.
How will you change the world?
I’m going to change the word with education. It’s been my dream to become a teacher since high school. I believe everyone deserves equal opportunity in their life. I aspire to create an anti-biased and inclusive environment for children to be in. Education can make a change if students are given the right resources and guidance. I’m especially passionate about early childhood education since I love working with children and it makes me happy to see them grow as a person. Treating people with kindness is another goal of mine because maybe that one kind action, word of yours can make a change to someone’s life.
