Kailey is a first-year graduate student in the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. While born and raised in Washington, she spent the better part of the last decade galivanting around the world. After studying international relations at the University of San Francisco and finishing her Peace Corps service in Peru, she is happy to be back to her Pacific Northwest roots. Truth be told, she missed the rain.
When Kailey is not actively working towards a better world, she can be found running (or biking) around the city in search of the perfect latte.

Wintana is a 4th year undergraduate at the University of Washington pursuing double degrees in Marketing and Sociology. She is a senior board member of the Association of Black Business Students, and is passionate about small business and community building. In her future career, she intends to assist small immigrant owned businesses to thrive in quickly changing environments. She enjoys doing activities with her friends, anything from hiking to watching movies.

Josef (Joe) is a second-year graduate student in the Evans School of Public Policy and the Jackson School of International Studies, working towards an MPA and an MA in International Studies. He is a Washington native through and through and has lived/studied/worked in its four largest cities.
Before his graduate studies, Joe graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BA in International Affairs, worked for UW Medicine and an immigration company, and did some traveling in South Asia and Latin America. His career goals are to work at the intersection of public policy and international relations, focusing on Latin America and mental healthcare, hopefully, at a think tank or nonprofit.
Outside of work and studies, Joe likes to hike and to backpack with his wife, Rossana, listen to music, and try to wrap his head around the latest space documentaries (often unsuccessfully).

Mariama is a senior at the University of Washington studying International Studies with a Human Rights concentration. She is originally from Guinea, a small country in West Africa.
After graduating, she hopes to go back to Sub-Saharan Africa to work with women's rights organizations. Outside of her job at FIUTS as a work-study student with Education Programs, she is an Ellis Civic Fellow and Historian of the African Student Association. Her passions include social justice, human rights, and community-building work in marginalized communities. When she is not in school or working at FIUTS, you can find her listening to podcasts and watching Netflix.
