Photo Contest: Who Has Inspired You?
The FIUTS Photo Contest is a weekly opportunity for members of the FIUTS community to share images from around the world. The theme for this week was: "Who has inspired you?”
We are excited to announce that we’ve selected all entires as contest winners! Thank you to everyone for sharing your pictures - continue on to see this week’s entries…
“Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is known for his lawsuit that halted the Trump Administration's travel ban targeting immigrants from seven majority-Muslim countries in 2017. His inspirations to me can be summarized by George Takei's own words: "Bob Ferguson clearly believes everyone deserves those guarantees (‘With liberty and justice for all’), no matter their background. That is, after all, what makes us Americans. We are a country of immigrants." It's the same reason why we have organizations like FIUTS exist today.
If you get to know Bob in person, I can tell you that he is probably one of the most approachable persons, and his presence makes you feel more open to share your ideas. The photo was taken on UW campus three years ago.”

“This is my best friend Nghi right after we landed in South Korea with our class. Nghi has inspired me in so many ways, from encouraging me to be more involved to dedicating her life to the health of others. Nghi spends countless hours volunteering at hospitals, and maybe more helping me focus while we study or do homework.”

Next week’s theme: to be announced, September 11, 2020!
