Meet the FIUTS Interns!

Yu, Chia, and Andy are the fabulous interns who are currently helping out the FIUTS office.

Every quarter, FIUTS is lucky enough to have student interns who help us with all kinds of tasks in our office while having an opportunity to meet people, gain work experience, and learn about international education.

Meet our three amazing interns who are joining us for the Winter quarter!

Name: Yu Sato

Hometown: Chiba, Japan

Year: First Year Master’s Student

Area of Study: Leadership in Higher Education

Hello! I have been working as an intern and facilitator at FIUTS since the fall quarter of 2021, and I became interested in the activities of FIUTS after attending the FIUTS orientation. Thanks to FIUTS activities, I have been able to meet many wonderful people from different countries.

I like to cook, cycle, and go on picnics. Of course, I also really enjoy participating in FIUTS events. I am looking forward to meeting many international students this quarter.

Name: Chitransha (Chia) Agrawal

Hometown: Gwalior, India

Year: Senior

Major: Mechanical Engineering

I've been with FIUTS since my freshman year, starting out as a participant myself. Last year I became a facilitator and during Fall 2021 joined FIUTS as an intern. During my time with FIUTS, I have been a part of the Outreach Committee, Orientation Committee, and continue to work with the CulturalFest Performance Committee and also as an intern.

I've learned a lot being part of different committees and working closely with the staff members. I look forward to learning more and having a valuable experience.

I like to write, take pictures, and am practically addicted to coffee and music.

Name: Andrea Xie (Call me Andy!)

Hometown: Beijing, China

Year: sophomore

Major: First Year Graduate Student

Area of Study: Communication Leadership - Digital Media (MCDM)

Hello there! This is my second quarter at UW, and I'm excited to become part of FIUTS! I first knew FUITS when I moved to Seattle from Austin last February. I was a total newbie who had no friends or family in this beautiful strange city. Thanks to the information and resources FIUTS shared, I eventually connected with our international community and started my new life here step by step.

While not working toward my goals, I'm a storyteller, moviegoer, foodie and cook. Lately, I'm also in the process of building my gym and reading routines, which is absolutely uneasy but beneficial in many ways. Any advice or words of encouragement is much welcome!

Thanks to our awesome interns for supporting FIUTS with all your hard work!
