Dear FIUTS Friend,

It's been an exciting summer so far at FIUTS! Our team has been navigating our transition to new, off-campus space, returning to in-person programming for visiting groups, and launching our Big Moves Campaign. At the same time, we've been hosting summer events and conversation groups, and preparing for a return to hosting in the fall.

This week, we're welcoming 24 participants from 22 African nations to Seattle as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Enrichment Institute. These young professionals represent a wide range of professional and civic interests, including public health, entrepreneurship, telecommunications, rural development, technology, and more! Meet the group tomorrow - Wednesday, July 27 - at a special networking reception at Optimism Brewery - everyone is welcome!

Can't make the reception? The fellows will spend two weeks in Seattle, and they would love to meet with local professionals in their fields of interest. Reach out if you're interested in being connected.

Thank you for being a part of our work at FIUTS!

Era Schrepfer, Executive Director

Apply for the FIUTS Board of Trustees

The FIUTS Board of Trustees (BOT) are community leaders who are passionate about our mission and interested in making an impact through citizen diplomacy. Each summer, FIUTS recruits a cohort of 4-6 new trustees to join this group of passionate and dedicated community volunteers who provide strategic, programmatic, and financial support to FIUTS.

Trustees serve a three-year term that can be renewed one time for a total of six years. Recruitment for new Trustees begins in late spring and new members are elected each fall. Interested in learning more about the FIUTS Board? Send an email to Era Schrepfer, FIUTS Executive Director.
