Dr. Jayasri Ghosh on the Great Gifts International Students Give Back to American Society
Brilliant changemaker and FIUTS Board Trustee, Dr. Jayasri Ghosh has drawn from her decades as a specialist in gifted education and coaching, Head of several Seattle schools, and current President of Offsite Insights to put her support behind FIUTS.
On the evening of the 75th Donor Appreciation NIght, Jayasri (Joy-SU-ree) and her husband, the witty strategist, founder of multiple nonprofits, and former Member of the Washington House of Representatives, Dennis Flannigan, had plans to travel to Sacramento for a special overnight celebration. So she and fellow Trustee Ricardo Ibarra generously collaborated in advance to create this video to share in lieu of her presence at the appreciation event.
If you couldn’t attend the Appreciation Night or missed it in the excitement of the evening, we ask you to listen to her poignant exploration into the values that international students contribute to American society—and most effectively, when they find belonging, leadership, and especially in Jaysari’s words, voice.
Please view her video below . . .
. . . and make your own gift to support local and international students who promote peace and understanding in the Puget Sound Region and around the world.
Special thanks to Jayasri for contributing her thoughtful perspective from her own past and a multitude of other international students’ experiences in the US.
Thanks to Ricardo, for his time and technique in creating this video of Jayasri’s conversation.
