Sangeet Moksha is a unique multicultural band of musicians, singers, and dancers based in Seattle, Washington. The members of the band have all come together through their mutual practice of Sahaja Yoga Meditation in their daily lives. Whether fast, rhythmical, soothing, or meditative, one of the constant goals is expressing the joy of the music and sharing the spiritually rich history of Indian music. The magic of the group comes from the shared spirituality, the wide variety of cultural back groups, the range of vocal styles, and traditional Indian instruments. We invite you to meditate, clap along, and dance with us during the performance!

We always cherish and look forward to spreading the joy and peace that Indian music can ignite in people. This CulturalFest is an excellent opportunity for us to share this joy and peace with more people at the event. Moreover, it will be a learning and humbling opportunity for us to perform at one of the most prestigious platforms in the country and also to share the same with other groups representing diverse cultures all around the world.

The musicians will perform a variety of traditional songs in multiple Indian languages: Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Marathi. In India these songs are known as qawwalis and bhajans, they are devotional and spiritual songs. Apart from singing, the performance will feature instruments from around the world including Tabla (Indian percussion instrument), Harmonium, Bansuri (Indian Flute), Violin, and Guitar. Additionally, we have two dancers who have choreographed a unique fusion of Indian traditional and modern styles to help convey the meaning of the songs through artistic movement and expression. The motive behind these performances will be to lead the audience in a meditative state, where they experience thoughtlessness and joy.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of life with a performance by Sangeet Moksha and enjoy the rest of CulturalFest 2024 with us!
