Another aspect of CulturalFest is to show the impact of different cultures on people all over the world.
Established at the University of Washington for several ago, THE KOMPANY has become one of the most well-known and popular student organizations on the UW campus. It is known for bringing together people from different cultures to share the energy and confidence that K-Pop brings.

THE KOMPANY is joining FIUTS CulturalFest for the first time as a performance group at the night show and will wrap up the full-day cultural celebration. We are as excited as they are about this collaboration, according to their Kreative Team Head, Rue Chandrasekharan.
THE KOMPANY is a K-pop dance collective affiliated with the University of Washington that specializes in K-pop dance covers, performances, original choreography, and public dance workshops.

We were invited to represent Korean culture at this year’s CulturalFest, and were honored to be given an opportunity to spread Korean pop music as a facet of Korean culture! From the constant assumption of K-pop only being considered pop music sung in Korean, we wanted to take the opportunity to change the reputation of K-pop to something beyond that definition.
One of the important things we are going to showcase at the Performance is the fusion of Korean classical sound with other cultural sounds in order to exemplify the facilitation of cultural exchange K-pop activates between both its own domestic culture and other international societies.
Events like CulturalFest are so important in spreading and sharing cultural differences in our society where cultural differences are still viewed with underlying stigma. Showcasing international cultures in the form of CulturalFest is an excellent means of sharing the beauty of other cultures and reducing barriers between our diverse populations.
THE KOMPANY is a seasoned dance troupe: their performance always makes a splash! We can’t wait to see them “burn” the stage at CulturalFest!
