Time: 5-6:30PM

Please have following ingredients and tools ready (feel free to substitute based on your dietary preference):

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers (can be food in cookie aisle of most grocery stores)

  • 1 cup confectioners (icing) sugar

  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa

  • 2 tbsp dark corn syrup (you can also use light corn syrup if can't find dark)

  • approx 1/4 cup white rum (I actually find you need more like 1/3 to 1/2 cup, and golden rum is also OK to use)

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Tools:

  • Food processor or blender, a method to crush the vanilla wafers into dust and finely chop the nuts.

  • Measuring spoons and cups

  • A large bowl and a small bowl.

  • The rum balls are stored in the fridge after making, so a container that can go into the fridge is needed.
