FIUTS Discussion Series on Race & Racism in the U.S.

Join us for a weekly virtual discussion series focused on race and racism in the United States. These discussions provide a welcoming space for international and U.S. students to deepen their understanding of the historical and contemporary role of race in the U.S and globally.

We encourage participants to plan to attend all five sessions in the series in order to build a more connected community of dialogue.

Date: Tuesdays, April 13th - May 11th

Time: 4:30-6:00 PM, PDT

This week’s topic: Race and Health
Why is COVID-19 impacting BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) communities more severely than mostly white communities? Why are vaccination rates different in different communities? This session will take a look at the role of race in healthcare and health outcomes in the U.S. Guest speaker TBA.
