FIUTS Discussion Series on Race & Racism in the U.S.

Join us for a weekly virtual discussion series focused on race and racism in the United States. These discussions provide a welcoming space for international and U.S. students to deepen their understanding of the historical and contemporary role of race in the U.S and globally.

We encourage participants to plan to attend all five sessions in the series in order to build a more connected community of dialogue.

Date: Tuesdays, April 13th - May 11th

Time: 4:30-6:00 PM, PDT

REGISTER HERE!

This week’s topic: Race & Disability
We all have multiple identities (our race, gender, class etc.) that combine into unique sets of privileges and discrimination - a concept known as “intersectionality.” In this session we will discuss the specific intersection of race and disability - what it is like to be non-white and have a disability in the U.S. Guest speaker TBA.
