FIUTS Discussion Series on Race & Racism in the U.S.

Join us for a weekly virtual discussion series focused on race and racism in the United States. These discussions provide a welcoming space for international and U.S. students to deepen their understanding of the historical and contemporary role of race in the U.S and globally.

We encourage participants to plan to attend all five sessions in the series in order to build a more connected community of dialogue.

Date: Tuesdays, April 13th - May 11th

Time: 4:30-6:00 PM, PDT

This week’s topic: Race & Criminal Justice
African American and Latino people in the U.S. are much more likely to be arrested and sent to prison in their lifetimes than white people. This discussion will delve into where those disparities come from and what a more equitable justice system could look like.
