FIUTS Discussion Series on Creating Social Change

Join us for a weekly discussion series focused on the many ways individuals can create social change in their communities and the world - and engage in dialogue about what your role can be in making a difference.

We encourage participants to plan to attend all five sessions in the series in order to build a more connected community of dialogue, but it is not required - you are welcome to attend as many sessions as you can!

Date: Thursdays, April 8-May 6

Time: 4:00-5:30PM, PDT

This week’s topic: Using your financial resources. Billionaire philanthropists are in the news a lot these days, but even if you only give a small amount of money to causes you care about, it’s worth considering how individual giving works and what kinds of contributions will make the greatest impact. We’ll talk about topics like mutual aid and effective altruism, and discuss some of the complexities involved in philanthropy locally and globally.
