Yiting Chu, Ph.D. (University of Washington, Seattle) is an assistant professor of curriculum and instruction (C&I) and coordinator of Master of Education in C&I--English as a Second Language program at the School of Education, University of Louisiana Monroe. Yiting's research is grounded in the intersections of multicultural education, teacher education policy and practice, and equity and social justice, with particular attention to examining the educational opportunities, experiences, and outcomes of culturally diverse and socially marginalized students and their communities. He is also interested in transformative teacher preparation theories, pedagogies, programs, and policies that promote action for equitable learning, cultural diversity, and social justice. Yiting is a strong advocate of community partnerships and has collaborated with students, teachers, and non-profit organizations in community-initiated efforts to recruit, prepare, and retain BIPOC teachers from and for diverse communities.
Weijia Wang is currently working at Colgate University as an institutional research associate. She has a Ph.D. in teaching, learning, and curriculum specializing in Teacher Quality and Teacher Education from the University of Washington - Seattle (UW), and worked at the Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion at the UW College of Education for 3 years. Weijia has also served as the chair for ASCE (Associated Students at the College of Education) and was the AERA (American Educational Research Association) Graduate Student Council Chair from 2017–2020 during her time at UW. Weijia's research mainly focuses on understanding and analyzing the development and decision-making process of teacher education policies based on interdisciplinary theories and methods. Weijia is also interested in pre-service teacher education for social justice and teacher preparation program evaluation. Weijia's work at Colgate has an emphasis on the institution’s DEI work with expertise in mixed-method research.
