Guest Panel: Exploring Careers in Tech

Explore careers in tech with industry professionals. During this session, you will learn what led panelists to pursue a career in tech, their experiences in academia, and professional pathways thereafter. All students and community members are welcome to attend this event — you do not need to currently be majoring in a STEM field.

Panelist Bios (additional bios coming soon):

Chelsea Le is a technologist who believes in creating technology that is a force for good, inclusion, and empowering others. She's a first-generation college graduate from the University of Washington in 2019 with degrees in Informatics and Business Entrepreneurship. Since then, she's worked at Boeing and Microsoft as a Product/Program Manager, where she gets to dive into her passions around the intersection of design, business, and product development, while working with amazing people. She is an advocate for curiosity, diversity of thought, and mentorship. Whether it is at work, home, or on one of her world travels, she aspires to inspire others and hopes to make an impact in others' lives.


Yuly Tenorio is a Lead Software Engineer at Salesforce (job title Lead Member of Technical Staff). She was born and raised in Peru. She earned her Computer Science degree from UC Berkeley and has been working in industry since 2009. She has enjoyed working through many technical challenges, especially in the cybersecurity space.


 

Matthew Dickinson is a programmer at AmazonSmile (job title: Software Developer Engineer). He studied Computer Science at the University of Delaware and has worked in the tech industry for 12 years. He enjoys the work (most days) because the of the daily problem solving, team collaboration, and potential to do some good. He believes in fostering a supportive and diverse work environment and is a mentor to new members of the team.
