Ginger Beer & Burke-Gilman Walk

RGB Burke Gilman 73 (4).png

Spend an afternoon sampling local, handcrafted ginger beer as you walk along the Burke Gilman Trail, a famous outdoor pathway that winds through Seattle's many neighborhoods. After meeting at the UW campus, participants will travel together to Rachel's Ginger Beer at the University Village Shopping Center. There, they will have the opportunity to try different ginger beer flavors like original, mango, white peach, and pink guava. Finally, the group will embark on a leisurely walk along the Burke-Gilman Trail where their journey will end at the scenic destination, Gas Works Park.

What is ginger beer? Ginger beer is a non-alcoholic beverage made with a blend of ginger, water and sugar. For those 21+ with valid photo ID, there is an option to add alcohol and make your ginger beer a "Moscow Mule" at Rachel's Ginger Beer.

Difficulty Rating: Easy - 2.3 miles.
Rating Rationale: This trail is flat, paved, well-maintained, and close to a variety of restaurants and resting places.

What to bring: Lightweight backpack or bag for water bottle, snacks, money for ginger beer and snacks, and any other items you'll need throughout the day. Wear comfortable shoes (tennis shoes highly recommended) and weather-appropriate clothing.

Have your plans changed? Why it’s important to officially cancel (as opposed to not show up):

Currently, group sizes are limited to ensure participant safety. This means that we cannot always accommodate everyone who wants to join an event and have an active waitlist. If your plans change, it’s important to let us know because someone would love to have your spot! To cancel your reservation, simply email: annie@fiuts.org. There is no penalty to cancel your reservation.

If you are cancelling for a ticketed event, please note that FIUTS can refund 75% of the ticket price up to three days before an event. If you cancel less than three days before an event, it will not be possible to issue a refund. All refunds will go back on the card originally used to make the purchase within 7-10 business days.
