Tailored towards the international members of the UW community, Interacting with the Police is a presentation that discusses the general differences between policing in the United States and other countries. The University of Washington Police Department is dedicated to protecting the rights of all citizens as provided by the Constitution of the United States as well as the Washington State Constitution. A few of the topics discussed include: Structure of U.S. Law Enforcement, Law enforcement authority, how to identify police officers, and your rights and responsibilities if contacted by the police.
