Welcome Andrew, Kori, and Lilly
We're excited to welcome three new student assistants to our office! Andrew, Kori, and Lilly all started this week and will be working for FIUTS full-time during the summer on various programs and activities, so say hi to them if you stop by. Here's a little bit more about them:
Name: Andrew Adams
Hometown: Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
Major: China Studies Jackson School
Year: Graduate Student Master’s Program
Role at FIUTS: Events & Activities Assistant
I’m a graduate student in the China Studies program with the Jackson School. Before coming to the UW I was an English teacher in China. Throughout China I taught in Dalian, Beijing, Wuxi and Shenzhen.
When I’m not studying or working I love watching American football and basketball. For football I’m a big Seahawks fan, but for basketball I don’t really have a team. I occasionally play the piano (not very well though). I would like to learn how to play the guitar, so feel free to help me if you’d like.
When you come to the office I’ll be at the front desk and I will helping with English culture conversation sessions. I look forward to meeting you!
Name: Kori Carter
Hometown: Kansas City, Kansas
Major: Urban Planning
Year: Junior
Role at FIUTS: Orientation Assistant
I am excited to be employed here as an orientation assistant through out my scholastic year at the University of Washington. I assist with event planning, donation recruiting and much more.
I have a passion for residential real-estate and home decor. I hope to take some of the exciting things I am learning from my position here, as well as my studies to give me the knowledge and experience needed to excel my career in my desired field in the future!
I look forward to meeting and connecting with the people I meet on this journey here and at the UW.
Name: Lilly Ferraz
Hometown: Tacoma, WA, USA
Graduate School: Evans School for Public Policy and Governance (MPA)
Year: Final Year
Role at FIUTS: Education Programs Assistant
I'm entering into my second and final year of my graduate program at University of Washington. I'm excited to use all my new skills at FiUTS, because international exchange is the career I'm working towards. I get to assist Ellen this summer to welcome young leaders from around the world to Seattle and make sure they get to learn, be safe, and have fun while they're here.
I am passionate about music, mandarin learning, and soccer. My favorite activities are reading (I will always have a book with me), singing karoake, playing my ukulele or going to a Reign game. I'm always ready to practice Mandarin and so feel free speak with me any time!
If you have any questions or just want to talk about fun topics like living in Taiwan, music in America, or science fiction please don't hesitate to stop by. I always love meeting new people and learning new stories.
