CulturalFest Countdown: Meet Natya UW

Natya UW will be sharing a powerful story through dance at the CulturalFest Performance Showcase on February 2. Learn more about this Indian classical dance team.

Natya UW is the University of Washington's premiere Indian classical dance team. It was initiated in 2009 by a few undergraduates who have been trained in Indian classical dance styles such as Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi. Natya aims to make Indian classical dance fun, exciting, and accessible to audience members by incorporating elements of the dance’s traditional styles as well as contemporary American culture. Natya performs at classical competitions throughout the country as well as local performances. Last year, the team placed at Laasya and Navarasa on the East Coast. This year, Natya is excited to showcase Indian culture through classical dance at FIUTS CulturalFest!

CULTURALFEST TICKET INFORMATION:

General admission tickets are on sale now for $15 online or in the FIUTS office (HUB 206). Kids 10 and under are free (a child ticket is required). Discounted student tickets are available for $10 in advance ($15 at the door).
