Global Month Photo Contest: Central America, South America, and the Caribbean
The FIUTS Global Month Photo Contest - a part of UW Global Month - is a weekly opportunity for members of the FIUTS global community to share images from different regions around the world. The second week of the contest features Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, and we received beautiful photos taken by photographers from around the world. Thank you to everyone for sharing your pictures – continue on to see photo entries and contest winners!
1st Place
“Picture taken from the sugar loaf mountain in Rio de Janeiro looking into the city; one of the greatest tourist attractions in the city.”
Israel Bron Simplicio // Hometown: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
2nd Place
“This is a picture I took last Sunday from the viewpoint of the city of Joinville in Santa Catarina, Brazil, where I live. The walk takes about 45 minutes straight up to hill and we can enjoy a sample of the Mata Atlantica. I have visit there many times since I was a little kid. Going back there from time to time makes me realize that achievements are not always about new horizons, but about a new day and a new version of yourself in the face of the same horizons and the changes that time brings.”
Fernanda Silva // Hometown: Brazil
Since we received fewer submissions this week, the FIUTS Staff is excited to contribute photos from their international experiences in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean! Continue on to see the special gallery…
“Sunset waves in El Limon, Nicaragua.”
