Giving Tuesday 2020: How to Support FIUTS
Each year on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, the world celebrates Giving Tuesday: “a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.”*
In light of serious financial impacts created by Covid-19, FIUTS is counting on the generosity of community members like you to help support our mission this Giving Tuesday. The cancellation of major programs that had been planned, combined with uncertainty about the future, has significantly impacted our income and put our organization at risk. Please consider making a gift to help us fill the gap in funding so that we are able to maintain staffing and programming through the coming months and beyond. Gifts of any amount are deeply appreciated.
Acknowledging that not all members of our community may be able to contribute financially, FIUTS has prepared a list of four unique ways you can help support our programs:
1.) Donate a gift card or cultural item to the FIUTS Blue Marble Bash auction. Examples include artwork, traditional clothing, woodwork, and other cultural items. You can also support your favorite local restaurant and FIUTS at the same time by buying and donating a gift card. To donate an item, please contact Samantha Novak, FIUTS Manager of Community Programs, at samantha@fiuts.org.
2.) Support the FIUTS student board by purchasing a FIUTS t-shirt designed by students. Recently, the FIUTS Student Board hosted a t-shirt design competition to support their leadership development training and yearly retreat. You can buy a winning t-shirt here.
3.) Buy a book through FIUTS Bookshop account. FIUTS is now an affiliate of Bookshop, which means that every purchase you make through our link supports FIUTS as well as local, independent bookstores. We’ve curated a list of 30+ recommendations to inspire this year’s holiday shopping. Visit our Bookshop here.
4. ) Make a donation through the FIUTS or University of Washington Combined Fund Drive at: fiuts.org/donate.
