January Photo Contest: Winter

 

The winners of January's FIUTS Photo Contest!

Every month this year, we'll be announcing a theme for a photo contest open to all members of the FIUTS community around the world - students, alumni, hosts, volunteers, former staff, partners, and friends. The photo contest is an opportunity for you to share your artistic views of the world around you, no matter where you are.

The theme of January's contest was "Winter." It may be cold and (often) cloudy in Seattle, but that doesn't mean there aren't some great opportunities to take beautiful pictures at this time of the year! The votes are in, and here are the winners: 

First Place: Photo by Yong Tian

Yong is from China and is studying sociology at UW. This photo, taken on January 18 2014, shows people enjoying the peaceful afternoon at Green Lake Park.

Second Place: Photo by Utkarsh Chauhan

Utkarsh is from Delhi, India, and is in Seattle with his mother, Smriti, a Fulbright scholar.

 

Third Place: Photo by Smriti Sharma

Smriti (Utkarsh's mom!) is also from Delhi, India and is a Fulbright scholar studying elementary teacher education.
