Meet UW Kahaani

Participating at CulturalFest for the first time, this talented group will take the stage with their unique Bollywood dance performance!

The UW Kahaani is one of twelve acts performing at the CulturalFest Performance Showcase on February 8 at Meany Hall. Learn more about CulturalFest - we hope to see you there!

UW Kahaani, a Hindi Film (Bollywood) dance team, was founded in 2012. Bollywood, based in India, is the largest film industry in the world, and its movies are characterized by a lot of singing and dancing. Kahaani takes popular musical numbers from Bollywood movies and joins them together into an original story line, complete with lead characters, costume changes, voice overs, and props.

In their first year, the team performed at Desi Dhamaka (the largest South Asian showcase in the Northwest), several private parties, and even Seattle Theater Group's production Dance This at the Paramount Theater!

This year, the members of UW Kahaani are excited to put on a performance that they believe people of all ages and cultures can understand, connect with, and enjoy.

Check out UW Kahaani's Facebook page, which features individual bios of many of their amazing performers!

Tickets for the CulturalFest Performance Showcase are just $10 for students in advance, and $15 general admission. Get your tickets in the FIUTS office in HUB 206, online, or at the door.
