Welcome Week Recap

FIUTS Welcome Week is a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion, showing the heartwarming spirit of our global community. This annual event, hosted by FIUTS, brings together students from around the world to foster cultural exchange and friendship. Welcome Week events started off with Embark sessions to welcome our newest international students to the area. Other Welcome Week events included: trip to Ikea and Dim Sum afterwards, visit to the Aquarium, International Happy Hour, an Argosy Boat Cruise, and a full Block Party Community BBQ. What a week!

A lot of appreciation goes out to the incredible dedication of our volunteers and partners. This year, we were fortunate to have several volunteers who worked on helping us make Welcome Week a memorable experience for all. Our Welcome Week volunteers came from a number of backgrounds, including our friends from Insperity, Microsoft, Seattle Neighborhoods and Utilities, and our very dedicated student team of facilitators.

In addition to the enriching activities and workshops, FIUTS Welcome Week is also about giving back to our local community. After having a lot of food leftover from the events, especially the Block Party BBQ, we took a step by donating the remaining supply to the local pantry.

FIUTS Welcome Week serves as a reminder that the power of diversity and positive approach hold a great weight on our community. As we reflect on this year's event, we are filled with gratitude for our dedicated volunteers and proud of our collective effort to make a difference in the lives of others through the opportunities we offer. Welcome Week really brings about the true spirit of FIUTS - one of unity, friendship, and a commitment to making the world a better place.
