SUSI on Civic Engagement '23 Wrap Up

SUSI cohort visits Roslyn

It’s been a full month since we said goodbye to our most recent SUSI group. Let’s recap their journey in Seattle.

The Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) on Civic Engagement, was an incredible journey into the world of active citizenship and community empowerment. This aimed to spark a passion for civic participation and provide young leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to make a real impact in their communities.

Throughout the program, participants dove deep into the concept of civic engagement, learning that it's not just about being aware of societal issues, but taking concrete actions to bring about positive change. The program introduced various aspects of civic engagement, including volunteerism, community organizing, and advocacy.

One of the program's highlights was the interaction with inspiring guest speakers who shared their personal stories of civic initiatives. Through workshops, discussions, and hands-on projects, participants developed a strong understanding of teamwork and collaboration, recognizing that achieving meaningful change often requires collective effort. They brainstormed and designed their own projects, ranging from environmental campaigns to social justice initiatives.

The SUSI program fostered a global community of young changemakers, creating lasting connections among participants from diverse backgrounds and cultures. This international network serves as a valuable resource for sharing ideas and collaborating on future endeavors.

In conclusion, the SUSI program on civic engagement empowered young leaders to step forward and make a tangible impact in their communities.
