Faces of FIUTS: Anumeha
Faces of FIUTS is a social media campaign that collects personal stories from individuals who are part of our work. This week, meet Anumeha!
Where are you from?
I grew up in Gurgaon, India. I moved to the U.S. 10 years ago on a company project to work directly with our U.S. counterparts in Minneapolis, MN. A year later I moved to Bellevue, WA and immediately fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. It is a perfect potpourri of cultures & beautiful outdoors.
What's your FIUTS story?
FIUTS has provided me the opportunity to play my part in the student learning experience, instilling in them the appreciation of global awareness, appreciation and tolerance. I was fortunate enough to start this journey in my own country right after undergrad, where every state has a different language, food, people; and yet all of us are bound by the same basic emotions & needs to connect, share a bond, enjoy our differences, and learn from each other.I feel humbled to be part of this community.
How will you change the world?
My mission is to make the world a better place wherever I go. Every small effort counts, is my motto. My journey is to be fearless and provide value in any manner I can, be empathetic, open and willing to give and ask for help wherever possible. Being Chair of the Strategy Committee, I am excited to focus the program to make them relevant to the students and the organization's mission & vision.
Anumeha has served on the FIUTS Board of Trustees for 3 years, and is currently Chair of the Strategy Committee.
Faces of FIUTS is published regularly on the FIUTS blog, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Read past posts collected here!
