Faces of FIUTS: Meet Nono
Faces of FIUTS is a social media campaign that collects personal stories from individuals who are part of our work. This week, meet Nono!
Where are you from?
I am from Harare, Zimbabwe, a country located in the southern part of Africa.
What's your FIUTS story?
I became involved in FIUTS when I applied for the SUSI program through the U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe. The meaningful experience through FIUTS was to learn to appreciate and unite with others, even though we are from different countries and cultures. FIUTS has taught me to be an open-minded person and to learn how to be with others.
How will you change the world?
My dream in the future is to make a positive impact on my community, because I believe that one person has the capacity to change the world. FIUTS has given me skills to create specific projects for my community, and helped me realize the importance of diversity. I have learned to take one step at a time for a common cause.
